In French, “Break a leg“ translates into “Merde“ (yes, “Shit“).
Why? So many years ago, people would ride horse-drawn carriages, especially to go to the theater. Obviously,
the more successful the play, the more coaches at the door.
A large amount of horse shit was a sign of success,
and so actors would want that!
